Welcome to Feather Hair Studio, a warm, welcoming hair studio in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, where beautiful hair and genuine connection come together. I’m Stephanie, the hairstylist behind Feather Hair Studio, and after more than 24 years behind the chair, I still truly love what I do.
For me, being a hairstylist has always been about more than hair. Of course, I love the creativity of transforming a color, creating beautiful dimension, refreshing a haircut, or helping someone find a style that works perfectly for them. But what I value most is the relationship I build with the people who sit in my chair. I love getting to know my clients, hearing about their families and lives, laughing together, and creating a space where they can relax and feel completely comfortable being themselves.
At Feather Hair Studio, my goal is simple: I want you to leave feeling like the best version of yourself.
I specialize in hair color, gray coverage, highlights, dimensional and blended highlights, lowlights, and customized haircuts for both long and short hair. I especially love creating natural, wearable color that looks beautiful without feeling overly complicated or high-maintenance. Whether you want to brighten your blonde, add depth and dimension to your brunette hair, blend or cover gray, refresh your existing color, or simply get a really great haircut, we can create something that fits your hair, lifestyle, and personality.
I believe great hair should work in real life. Not everyone wants to spend hours styling their hair every morning or visit the salon every few weeks to maintain an elaborate color. I love working with everyday women who want to look polished, current, and beautiful while still feeling like themselves.
One of my favorite parts of having more than two decades of experience is knowing that no two heads of hair—or people—are exactly alike. Hair changes over time, trends change, lifestyles change, and sometimes you simply feel ready for something new. I take the time to listen to what you like, what you don’t like, how much maintenance you’re comfortable with, and how you actually style your hair at home. From there, we can create a look that makes sense specifically for you.
Feather Hair Studio is located inside Studio B in Oconomowoc, where I share a beautiful salon space with my sister, Sarah of Sarah Alex Hair. Creating this space together has been incredibly special. We wanted it to feel comfortable, stylish, intimate, and inviting—the kind of salon where you can walk in, settle into the chair, and immediately feel at home.

After 24+ years as a hairstylist, I’m incredibly grateful that I still get excited about coming to work, creating beautiful hair, and spending my days with wonderful people. My clients aren’t just appointments on my schedule. The conversations, relationships, laughter, and trust that develop over the years are what have made this career so meaningful to me.
